Donegal harvest Rally plus National Autocross Grass Championship

Clare Motor Club members who made the long journey to Killybegs in Co. Donegal included Councillor Alan O'Callaghan from Kilmurry who finished third in Class 20 and 88th overall and had Donegal's Loretta Kelly calling the pacenotes. The pair developed gearbox problems on special stage 7 and had to nurse their Subaru home in first gear to claim their award.
Meanwhile their was bad luck for Kilkishen navigator Cathal Nolan and his Galway driver Dylan Donoghue who were competing in the Junior Section as an engine fire in their escort put them out of the event. Navigator Michael Hamilton from Kilrush finished second in the Junior Section with driver Mark Murphy in their Honda Civic.

Turning to the 2016 PK Windows National Autocross (Grass) Championship. where Clare Motor Club member Cecil Doak Donnelly has secured first place overall in the Super Saloon section of the championship for the second year in a row after competing in the final round of the championship in Imokilly last sunday in his Metro 6R2
